U M Women

Purpose of the United Methodist Women:  The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. We currently have three circles that hold monthly meetings during the evenings.  Once a quarter, all circles get together for a pot luck dinner and meeting.  We often bring canned goods and non-perishable items to the meeting to be given to Urban Ministries.  The circles also have annual fundraisers to support the missions in which they are involved. Pledges that are given during the year to the central UMW fund go to support missions including The Bethlehem Center, Camp Don Lee, The Child Advocacy Center, Christmas Opportunity, Church Women United, Contact Ministries, Urban Ministries, Methodist Home for Children, Rescue Mission, Scholarship Fund, Stanton House and Vision Resource.
